Match Fees Increased

Match fees for all competions, excluding the Huntingdon & District League, have been £1 for many years. That amount barely covers the cost of refreshments provided. It was decided at the AGM to increase fees for the Ladies League, Over 60s League, cup competitions and friendlies to £2.  The fee for all Huntingdon & District League matches remains at £3.

Family Membership Introduced

In a bid to attract new members and their children, it was agreed at the AGM to introduce a family membership level. The cost would be £130 for 2 adults and 2 children up to and including the age of 16. This membership offers some savings for the members, and an incentive to recruit some younger players.

Getting ready for the new season

Christmas is done, and the new year will soon be not so new. Before we know it the weather will have improved, the days will be getting longer and the new season will be getting underway.  With that in mind, I have been asked by the committee to publish some decisions taken at the AGM, which was held before Christmas.

Subscriptions Payment

The vast majority of the club’s expenditure is made at the start of the year, in January and February. To mitigate the spend of a not insignificant sum of money over those two months, the committee are asking for the payment of subscriptions to be made from the 1st of January onwards. It’s possible that most members think the subs payment date is taken from the date of the first match of the season (I did), but that is not the case. Subs have always been due from the 1st January. The committee are aware that Christmas incurs a lot of expense, but please consider paying your subs as soon as you can. It will help ease  the club’s finances considerably. The good news for playing members is that membership stays at last year’s rate of £65.
