Cup Competitions

Huntingdon Outdoor Bowls Club takes part in a number of local pairs, triples and fours cup competitions.

Dilley Cup

The Dilley Cup was previously known as the The Huntingdon County Bowls Challenge Cup.  The cup was presented by Sir Arthur Dilley.

From its inception in 1929 the competition was run by The Literary Bowls Club.  When the Literary Bowls Club merged with St. Peters Bowls Club and became Huntingdon Outdoor Bowls Club we inherited the running of the competition.

The Dilley Cup is open to male and female bowlers.

The team consists of twelve players, making three rinks of four. Each rink plays twenty-one ends. There are no trial ends. The scores of each end will be added together to decide he winner. In the event of a tie, an exra end will be played by all rinks. Woods over one mere from the jack will not score. If the jack is ditched, the end is considered dead and must be played again. There are no live woods. A full set of rules can be seen in the clubhouse.
