Secretary’s update
The following update has been received from Jim. I am copying and pasting it as it’s the quickest way to get all of the information on the page. Please read through it.
- Firstly, tomorrow (Tuesday 6th) is the final of the Dilley Cup, with Hemingford and Somersham fighting it out for the trophy. All are welcome to come along and watch what will be a competitive finals match.
- Regarding the Stocker Cup, following on from St Ives’ request to change the date, we have confirmed back to them the date of Sunday 11th August. I know many of you who were down for the original date are able to make the re-arranged fixture, so we will share confirmed details once we hear back from our competitors.
- We have also confirmed a re-arranged date for the Great Gransden friendly – Tuesday 13th August (6:15 p.m. start). Thank you to everyone who has re-signed up, so to speak, and I believe we might have 1 place available if anyone else would like to take part.
- Also a reminder that we have a work party planned for this coming Saturday (10th August) from 10 a.m., for a long overdue blitz of the green surrounds and assortment of odd jobs – feel free to come along, even if it’s simply to encourage those on their hands and knees! I mentioned the possibility of doing food on the day, but I think simply due to the last minute nature of it, we will save the thought for another day.

Over 60s game 24th July cancelled
The game on the 24th July away at Gamlingay has been postponed. After speaking to their team captain we will be probably be looking at some Friday dates for the match. I will be checking players’ availability when the proposed replacement dates are received.
Dilley Cup Semi-Finals and Final
Huntingdon Outdoor Bowls Club sponsor and organise the Dilley Cup competition. As such, the semi-finals are held on our green every year. The first semi-final will be played on the Tuesday 23rd July at 6:00pm between Sawtry and Hemingford. The second match will be held a day later and will be between Buckden and Somersham. The final will also be held at Huntingdon and will take place on Tuesday 6th August at 6:00pm

Club Shirts
I have published a page on this site with some ideas on how a possible new club shirt might look. Please note NO DECISION has been taken on changing the shirt at this time. There is a whole paragraph about that on the page. Please take a look. It is in the password protected area of the site for obvious reasons! Click on Private Members Area in the menu bar, then click on the ‘request the password’ link on the resulting page. If you are a club member I will be more than happy to pass it on to you.
The page also contains a comments box. Please say something so we can get a feel for your thoughts. It would be great if you can add your name to your comments, but if not I will show your comment on the page as Anon. I’m eager to hear what you think.
