A Place To Keep Updated
Saturday 19th April 2025
Dates for your diary
The opening day for the club is Sunday 27th April at 1:30pm for a 2:00pm start. Get those shoulder joints oiled up and ready for the first roll-up of the season. The club will also be open on Saturday 26th at 10:00 for a clean-up. *Please* come and give a hand if you can. The sooner we get things done the sooner we can go home. The usual faces would appreciate any extra help they can get.
Friendly match dates
Dates for this year’s friendly matches against Great Gransden and Eaton Socon have been published, and last year’s matches have been removed. The dates can be seen on the Fixtures page. You can go to the electronic selection form, or add your name to the paper form in the clubhouse.

Draft Huntingdon & District League fixtures published
The draft fixtures for the H&D League have been published and can be seen on the Fixtures page. These are draft only, so subject to change. I will update the Fixtures page if there are any changes. There are a few Tuesday games this year, starting in July, please keep an eye open for them. All teams we play this year are offering food, with the exception of St Neots B. There will be changes to the structure of the league at the start of the 2026 season. I will publish those separately, but we will definitely have something to play for this year.

New season, new look
Even though it’s mid-January and the days are still short, cold and wet, the new season is creeping up on us. Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s going on.
Website renewal
The website went down well last year and helped to attract a number of new members. That is what the committee wanted so we had some success. With that view it has been decided to retain the site for the coming year. We hope it provides you, the members, with all of the information you want, but please let me know if you think something is missing. I hope we can improve communication about friendlies this year. I am also hoping that we can bring you details of ladies league results with some tables this year.
New shirts
The initial order of the new shirts was received before Christmas. They have been worn by the indoor outdoor team since the new year and have had positive remarks from our members and opposition team players. Most of them have been handed out to their wearers, but if you haven’t got yours yet please let me know and I’ll arrange to meet you at the club.
Competitions and availability
Nobody else stood for Captain of the Over 60s team at the AGM so I will be organising things for the team again this year. Earlier this week I got the entry form for the Millicent Childs League. It is in the hands of the treasurer and secretary ready for completion. We did quite well last year, so it would be great to see if we can do a bit better in the coming season. Last year the team wasn’t short of players for any game; on two occasions we actually had an extra. Let’s hope for more of the same next season. If you know you’re not goingto be available on specific dates for any competition next year please complete the Availability Form.
