Club News and Views

I thought you would like to know that everyone has indicated that they would like to purchase at least one shirt. I will be placing an order for a total of 39 shirts tomorrow morning. It will take around 4-5 weeks for the order to be dispatched, and there is the small matter of Christmas in the way. Please don’t make any payment yet, you will be advised when the time is right. How exciting!

The club AGM was held this morning as advertised.  Thanks to all of those who attended and those who passed on their apologies.  Jim Milligan will publish the minutes as and when they are written up.

One of the votes concerned a change to a new shirt.  That vote was passed with no objections.  There then followed a discussion about the two designs submitted by the committee.  There was a clear winner with just one vote for the other shirt – sorry Ann!  The shirt shown below will be the new club shirt.  I am very pleased and quite proud to announce that my offer to sponsor the shirt was also accepted. Please welcome the new club shirt! 

The AGM has been set for Saturday 23rd November at 11:00. We really need as many members as possible to attend as there will be voting on a number of important issues. Amongst the topics for discussion will be a change to a new club shirt.

Discussions with club members has indicated a strong feeling for a more modern look shirt. A vote will be taken at the AGM to agree or otherwise a new design. In order to save some time, I have been in talks with Zapkam to supply a sizing set. The set will be available at the club from the 9th November until the AGM on the 28th. We would like to get as many members sized as we can in anticipation of the change. Dates and times for sizing members will be published later.

The committee are aware that there is a cost to members for the new shirt. If we meet the initial order quantity of 15 the price per shirt will be around £26.99. I have chatted to some of the committee members and said that I would be prepared sponsor the shirts to the value of £10 off the cost of the first shirt and £5 off the cost of a second should you wish to buy two. That would bring the cost down to around £16.99 for one shirt, or £38.98 for two instead of £53.98. I would be adding my Mel Pettit Photography logo and website address to the back of the shirt. The proposed sponsorship would also have to be voted on at the AGM.
